Privacy Policy

Our approach

We try to collect as little as we can get away with. We don't sell your data. We don't run third-party ad trackers. This policy explains what we do collect, why, and what your options are.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and a hashed password. You can optionally add a display name.

Usage data. We log standard web-server information — IP address, browser user agent, and the pages you visit — to keep the service secure and to diagnose problems.

Content you submit. Routes, comments, corrections, and similar contributions are stored under your account.

Cookies. We use first-party cookies for authentication sessions and basic preferences. We do not use cross-site advertising cookies.

How we use your information

  • To operate, secure, and improve the Service.
  • To communicate with you about your account.
  • To send occasional product updates, if you've opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Sharing your information

We share information only with service providers who help us run the Service (e.g., hosting, database, email delivery) and only to the extent needed to perform those services. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the account settings, and we'll remove your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via our contact page.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — TLS in transit, hashed passwords, and encrypted databases — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, though, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

Children

The Service isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe we've collected information from a child, contact us and we'll delete it.

International users

Our servers are located in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the U.S.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let you know. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
